I haven't done front squats in a very long time, and this morning I remembered why. It's not that I can't push the weight with my legs, it's that I can't support it for long. I'm doing the fat loss program and it's not easy holding that weight up there for 16 reps.
Is it acceptable to substitute machine front squats? Or will they have the same effect since there is a mechanism involved. At my gym we have a squat maching by Omega that allows for front squats (in case anyone's seen this and can provide input). I know rear squats hit the quad differently, and I really like front squats, but how do you hold that weight up comfortably for that many reps?

To tell you the truth I have done thme once and hated them so nver did them again. But it is ok to sub other exercises is ok.

IF YOU THINK THOSE ARE BAD, TRY THE SISSY SQUATS!!! I DON'T KNOW WHO THE HELL NAMED THOSE THINGS BUT THEY ARE ANYTHING BUT SISSY. SINCE I AM OVERWEIGHT TOO I AM FINDING IT HARD TO PERFORM SOME EXERCISES AS WELL. I FIND THE WALKING LUNGES TO BE BEST AT HOLDING MY WEIGHT WITHOUT STRESSING THE KNEES AND ANKLES TOO MUCH. Front squats are completely uncomfortable did em once and never again. How you supposed to hold that bar on your chest it was killer

aLL i CAN SAY IS THIS........REGULAR SQUATS ARE THE BEST FOR LEG DEVELOPMENT....THE OTHER EVERCISES ARE JUST A TOOL TO SHOCK THE LEGS INTO GROWTH...I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE USED AS THE MAIN EXERCISE. NOT THAT THEY COULD NOT MAKE YOUR LEGS GROW, THEY CAN BUT REG SQUATS ARE THE BEST
