Hello all...I am 42 years old and currently at 154lbs and 5'3" tall......I have been working out in my home gym for a year and saw improvement..lost inches...went down one dress size..and a couple of pounds... of course I am looking to slim down..but not dramatically..just tone...I do cardio 5 times a week which is a 30min workout of 10mins/bike... 10mins/stepper...10/treadmill..and switch up every other week to cardio 3x and pilates 2x a week...trying hard to work in strength training..but always feel too exhausted afterwards to enjoy it...whereas with cardio i am left refresshed and alert most of the day...why do I feel so out of sorts after doing strength training.

I feel the same way. Do your strength training before cardio and hopefully with 6 to 8 hours in-between. Replace two days of cardio with strength training for a few weeks and see if you still feel tired. You may not be building enough strength. Keep in mind that strength training can be cardio if you keep your heart rate up while doing it. You might try taking in a protein shake before and after.
I'm interested to hear what others have to say.
