hi

I have been workingout for last 1 and half month. gaining good muscles and losing fats fast. I have heard that if i lift heavy weight (means the weight which is heavy for me) then i will get mass and strength both. means mass will increase too. well i think i am doing it right now may be thats why i am getting mass quicker than others but still wanna confirm it if anyone knows plz reply

If you're lifting heavy and getting good results, keep it up! Strength and mass usually increase simultaneously.

is your priority strength/power or mass?

'heavy weight' is a very relative term....heavy enough to lift just 6 times? 8 times? 10 times? 100 times? just 1 time?...all are heavy....how heavy is the question

if you train for power - strength then you should stick to reps of 1-5 and check out powerlifting thread....for exercises which are very specific to gaining power...

if your goal is mass then you can train with reps of 6-8 ...

if you want muscle endurance you may want to try reps of 8-12

sometimes you may want to even do reps of 100 to shock your system or if you're training for something endurance specific...ie marathon...so maybe doing squats for 100 reps can be beneficial to you...by training your slow twitch fibers....in your muscles vs the fast twitch which you may need to explode with very heavy weights.....
