For a female, and a diabetic on top of that, I believe 396 gr. of carbs are way out of wack. CArbs are your main culprit in blood sugar management.
You do need carbs of course, but you need to be aware of the type of carbs. You could never get 396 gr. of "good" carbs in a day without resorting to the crappy stuff that elicits a blood sugar response.
My wife is a diabetic who by correct dietary choices now uses absolutely no meds, was training to compete in a bodybuilding contest, etc. She was even featured on a site as hometown girl of the month for fitness.
