Thank you for the nice welcome Raj & Pedman. I feel fortunate to have found my way here. I can see support and information is in abundance here.

My short term goals include:

*developing consistency in my exercise program

I have started with a basic "get ready" plan which has me doing 30 minutes of cardio 4X a week. Beginning next week, this will be increased to 5-6X week. I will also begin the strength training program provided by FT. This goal has begun the implimentation process. Longer term, I hope to build up my strength and endurace to increase my intensity and weights.

*improve the quality of the foods I eat

I have removed "fast food" from my vocabulary and hence my "diet". Replacements include higher fiber, higher protien, and lower fat choices. This is also an immediate goal that has been implimented! Longer range, I hope to expand on what I consider my "safe" foods and reintroduce my favorites on a "special occassion" basis.

*lose weight

A common goal. No less important though at this point. Having recently gained a significant number of pounds as the result of medication, I am planning to reclaim my sexy little figure. I have a bit of a fear of scales, so in order to ensure that I don't get hung up there, I am going with a no weigh plan for now. I have a closet full of clothes which will let me know that I am accomplishing my goals. Immediate goal here is to get back into what I like to call my "fat pants". These pants range from size 8 to size 10. I know that at 135 these fit great. Longer term goal is my size 2's and 4's, which are perfect at about 115-120 pounds. Of course, the exercise goals and food goals will be the key to my accomplishing these goals.

*build muscle tone

Despite having been "thin" less than a year ago, I have never really been as toned as I'd of liked to be. I was a soft thin and I believe that was a result of my using diet and very little focused exercise to maintain my body size. I tended to be what I call a "lazy exerciser". I'd do the time, but never increase the intensity. I'd never really push myself. Now, I'd like to begin focusing on being a little more toned. Stronger. I'd like to feel the accomplishment of a successful workout.

So these are my main goals at this point. There are several other more "vanity-type" goals, like getting in my adorable black bikini in August, figuring out exactly what I am trying to accomplish with my current haircut, and other things like that, but they are in the shadows in comparison to my overall goal of being healthier and fitter and just more active in general.
