Why would you drink your whey during a workout?

I do it, it helps save your lean mass you shouldn't need to if you are eating plenty of carbs during the day and only working out for an hour max. But I like to use it as a back up along with a few dextrose tabs to keep the capillerys flowing with aminos. The princible for me is to feed the muscle as it is required I also believe that this aids recovery.

Quoting from wrestler125: in this order, the best times Post workout Pre workout During workout Morning after waking Night before going to bed Midnight snack Between meals any questions as to why then just post ============= PERSONNALLY, I THINK PROTEIN SHAKES MUST ONLY BE USED POST WORKOUT. WHOLE FOOD MUST BE YOUR PRIOR SOURCE OF PROTEIN, NOT PROTEIN SHAKES. I WOULD SAY I AM NOT AGREED, NOT THAT IT IS BAD, BUT I THINK IT IS BETTER TO HAVE A BIG CHICKEN BREAST OR A CAN OF TUNA |

real food meals are going to boost your metabolism better than shakes and give you a wider variety of nutrients and a higher fiber intake.
The optimal times for protein supplementation are postworkout, because of the need for optimal uptake and absorption and maybe in the morning first thing, same basic reason. Of course, if you are working and the choice is a protein shake or nothing - take the shake. -------------- Vision without action is a daydream, Action without vision is a nightmare. -- Japanese Proverb -- |

Can't you get your hands on eggs and milk. if you can get whey in such abundance you must have enough funds for eegs and milk.

All the posts were very direct and straight. You have to make your choice on how to get it.-------------- Scales are for dead weight: We are not dead yet! Still trying to find out how to do the Hollywood Free Press. Ivan carivan@freetrainers.com Montreal Canada |

We are all busy. do you think we all sit on our backsides all day. If you want to reach your goals you have to make commitments no one said it was easy and its not. we all have obsticals but it depends on your determination, the more determined you are the more you will achieve.

kakaroto: I agree with you, actual food is much more important, but if your going to supplement, than those are the best times to take it
