Ok, Being new to all this I have a question I hope someone can clarify for me. I received my schedule for FT routine but do not understand the sets and rep part. it goes set 1x20,set 2x15, set 3x12, set 4x10. Ok, heres where I get all messed up, I understand the first set but 2,3,4 im confused. Am I supposed to do 2 sets of 15, and 3 sets of 12, then 4 sets of 10?? Or just go down line 1,2,3,4 with the reps they have next to it and then im done with that exercise? Thanks your help is very appreciated! :)

Set one would be 20 reps at x pounds, the next set would be 15 reps at x pounds, then 12 reps at x pounds and then 10 reps at x pounds. So, in all, four sets with set one being 20 reps, set two being 15 reps, set three is 12 reps and set four is ten reps.

Hope that helps!

Yes, that helps thanks.Someone told me I was supposed to do 2 sets of 15, then 3 sets of 12 and 4 sets of 10. I was doing that and it seemed like it was taking forever to get done and I think I was over training! Also am I supposed to add weight to each new set? Thanks :)

I also am a little confused. Maybe a silly question, but I have to ask. When starting on the first reps, should you raise the weights for the next, and again on the next and so on, or stay with the same weight? My bf is in really good shape and has worked out for a long time and that is what he does, but he really cannot answer questions for me because and tell me if that is good for me to do. I am not looking to loose weight, just gain a little muscle and tone. And I have never worked out before a just recently.
