When gaining muscle mass after doing a big session when is it appropriate to exercise that muscle group again the trainer at the gym said to do it every 4 days? At the mo im doig training day splits which is best?

you can do it every 7 days....if you go very heavy you might even get away with 1 workout for big bodyparts every 1.5-2 weeks (legs, back)....smaller body parts should be trained once a week for best results....(biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest)...

I wouldn't suggest training all muscles every 4 days...it may lead to overtraining fairly quickly..

Menace, you train each bodypart once a week-2 weeks? I would say every four days is fine.

I train my back/legs every 2-3 weeks (with great results)wrestler but this is particular to me...I am saying full body split every 4 days will lead to overtraining...am I suggesting he train eahc bodypart ocne every 2 weeks? NO....once a week is fine...I am pointing out that large body parts recover slower so you can take more time if you need it between workouts....

Want ot know th answer for that?
SEE WHAT WORKS THE BEST FOR YOU.

personnally, my muscles grow bigger some once a week, others twice.
a friend of mine, who is big by the way, goes 2 twice a week all the muscles and go very heavy: making like 16 sets for each muscles invluding small ones.

so as you may see, i will recommend you to go 6 weeks with one routine then 6 weeks with the other and see how you body responds

Wait, im confused. Are we talking about a full body workout, or one body part. Because if we are talking about a full body workout, then I agree with you 110%.

Yeah, that statement is a bit confusing, because a 4 day split is and can be ideal.

For instance...

Chest/triceps
back/biceps/abs
rest
shoulders/back
quads/hams/calves
rest
restart, or you could take 2 days off, the weekend for example, and start again on Monday.
