As you may or may not know, I am taking a temp leave from the westside. However, I was wondering if anybody out there had any suggestions for me (as a wrestler) when I do return. For example, I do weighted pull ups and heavy rows as a max effort excercise or assistance excercise on ME day. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on how I could do these on DE day. I dont know how well a speed chin up will work. Any suggestions would be helpful

I would do 'speed movements' with just the three main lifts. Squat, Deadlift, and Bench. As a powerlifter those are the movements you are trying to improve...everything else is auxillary to these exercises....since you're training for wrestling...I am not even sure there's a need for a speed day....but then again that's a personal choice or what you find works best for you...

Speed is very important in wrestling. It has been working, but pulling is very important in wrestling. I was considering speed rows, but I dont want the bar slamming into my chest.

When do you ever pull fast with your upper body in wrestling? Most pulling (with your arms) is a slow, brute strength movement. Do heavy weighted pull-ups, rows, etc... on both upper body days after you have done your main work.

When im pulling a gut wrench, suplex, tight waist, when im shooting, and most importantly when i go to through i pull extremely fast.
You think i should just train heavy for both days? Thats what I've been doing, and its worked pretty good. When I start the season coming out of a collar bone injury, i was doing reps of 8 with my bodyweight, now i can do 3 with 65 pounds attached to my feet with different grips.
Thanks for the advice. anyone else ill welcome your input.

What would you think of heavy weighted pull-ups/ chin-ups on max effort day, and then higher rep bodyweight pull-ups/chin-ups on dynamic effort day?
