How much vitamin C should I be taking on a regular basis? I work out 4-5 days a week, clean diet , plenty of water. I am 5'8" and weigh in at 194. Some places say 250-500 others say well over 500

I take 500mg a day as a minimum. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so you dont have to worry about taking to much. I've heard of people taking obscene amounts, and I know that when your in an accident they pump up to 20000mgs into your blood. No there is no reason for that other than medical, but I would use 500 - 1000mg daily as a guideline. I weigh less than you though, so you may want to take more. How much is up to you. However, if you take high doses, then consider investing in Ester-C, its a non-acidic for of vitamin c that is supposedly easier absorbed and its easier on your stomach and digestive system.

One good way to find your vitamin c tolerance level, start out with 1 gr., and add 500 mg. at a time(throughout the day, not all at once). Once you reach a point where you start to get direahea, this is your cutoff point, and drop back 500 mg.
We as bodybuilders go through alot of vit. C. This is on top of what is needed to help keep a healthy immune system. I also recommend ester C. And one more thing, post workout is an excellent time to take any antioxidants. As you probably know, your system is in supercompensation mode, and can uptake and utilize at that time better.
