Hey I just started lifting, because my coach cut me because he said my arm isnt strong enough. I have one year to become stronger and I need as much help as I can get. I can throw right now high 70's, I weight 135lbs, Im 6'1", Im 15 going to be 16 in June, and I tried benching yesterday and I barely got 110lb up. Please help me out it means so much to me, I really need to bulk up. I bought the Pro-Rated protein powder from Costco (Bavarian Choco)$20 (22 grams per/scoop) is that any good? Also if you have any workouts for pitchers please share because if I dont make it next year my Junior year, I'm probably not even going to tryout Senior year.

Thanks,
Mako3

My basic(very) advice:
There are hundreds of workout programs out there. Since you found this site, try the fitness plan function for strenght gains and stick with it for a few months then mix in variety. Make sure you focus on not just your arms. You need to increase overall strenght since throwing envolves all your major muscle groups.

Eat good clean food, that means if you think its junk food, walk away. Chicken breast, lean steak, turkey, fish. Eat lots of fruits an veggies=I perfer salads loaded with a variety of stuff since I hate most cooked veggies, raw is good. Oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat pasta. Drink lots of water and avoid excess sugar. Look at lables when buying protienpowders and bars= look at servings of protein per scoop and #of scoops per container(save some money) adn as far as bars go, If high fructose corn syrup is anywhere near the beginning of the ingredient list, go with another bar.
Good luck, and don't worry if you cant lift alot now, that will come with sweat.

Alright thanks, I'm eating that way now, I couldnt find that workout program. Yesterday at the store I picked up these protein/creatine bars(12 of them): http://www.supplements101.com/store/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MLOXTREMEBARS&Show=ExtInfo
It contains 30 grams of protein and 5 grams of creatine. I also bought a little container of creatine. It was only $9 but it has 23 servings, and the
<b>Creatine Loading: Days 1 through 5; take two rounded teaspoonful 2-3 times daily.
Creatine Level Maintenance: Days 6 and beyond; take one rounded teaspoonful 1-2 times daily.</b>

Thanks,

At the top of this page click on "fitness Plan". Fill in your info and goals and it will give you a pretty good plan which can be modified if need be.
Watch your creatine intake. If you are following the directions on the powder and on top of that consuming creatine contain bars you may be pissing away your hard earned cash.

what do you mean? I just did that fitness plan thing, thanks. I'm only going to have the creatine/protein bars after I run out of my container of the creatine powder, because it says after 6 days you only need to take the dosage once a day. Which is exactly the amount thats in the bars. Also I got my bars cheaper than what they are on the site, I got them for $1.50 each do you guys think thats a good deal?

Thanks

Some dudes at my old gym took 5g/ creatine PWO with thier protein shakes AND used high calorie protein bars w/creatine in them as a form of meal replacement. In my humble opinion that was overkill. heres a good link about creatine:

Most important is real food and real heavy weights. Determin your 1 rep max and go with 75-80% of that for your working sets. Heres a cheat sheet to figuring out what your 1RM is and %'s of that weight:

Help, I just bought the body fortress high performance creatine and it says take for the loading, 4 times a day which will equal 20 grams, that says adults. Im 15 turning 16 in june and I weight 135lbs, 6ft tall and I started working out yesterday morning, and I was wondering how many grams of creatine should I take for my weight? Also does creatine stunt your growth? I found at this site: http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:4PKw64VCIXMJ:www.femalemuscle.com/library/weekly/aa091799.htm+creatine+weight+dosage&hl=en&client=firefox-a
and in that chart it shows 143-163lbs (10grams per/day)
Also what would be a good maintenese for my weight too? Yesterday I took a total of 15grams is that ok?

Thanks alot,
Mako3
