hey everyone, my name is matt, i'm 6'3 200lbs 26 yrs old. i was a standout athlete in highschool basketball i played at the college level for two years i was in very good shape, however my party life seemed to take over throughout the course of remaining 2 years. now i am trying to kill a smoking habit and build myself back into shape. it's gonna be a long hard road, but i am so ready to make a change. I hope to meet some nice people through this journey and get some advice as well. see you on the boards!

Hi Matt and welcome to FT! Here you will find lots of great information and wonderful people willing to help you with any questions. You can also type a question into the "Fit Buddy" at the bottom of the page and it will bring up links to previous discussions on that topic. As for your smoking habit, have you joined a quit smoking support group yet? There's an awesome one at http://quitsmoking.about.com/mpboards.htm. You can also check out www.whyquit.com and www.cognitive quitting.com - both great sites. Glad to have you aboard and good luck!

Hey, if you are ready, you can do it! Focus, keep your goals simple and attainable, one foot at a time, don't try to do everything at once.

Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!
