I forgot to add this in my last post. Is there a lift that will stimulate the upper bicept. It only feels pumped in my lower bicept while my upper is loose. I'm really trying to get defined between my bicept and shoulder like I have shoulder tricept definition, is this more of shoulder definition?

Ok not really sure what you are looking for, are you talking about the bicep(the muscle that looks like a ball, when you flex you arm?) Or the muscle underneath it? To make a higher peak you need to do concentraion curls, for overall mass hit the straight bar curls. Remember that your triceps are like 2/3 of your arm so for rally large arms you need to hit the tris hard as well.

If you develope the biceps with heavy compound movements like straight or ez-curl bar curls and incline dumbbells, when you start leaning out, your definition will show there, provided also you have been hitting the sholders with equally good intensity and the delts are developed. Best of luck.

A little off topic - does the bicep have multiple heads? Okay, to answer the original contraction (I'm not sure if you can specifically target the 'upper' bicep, hence the above question), but maybe try changing the point of peak contraction. Maybe doing incline or decline curls might make a difference.

The bicep by very definition is two small muscles. But my theory is, unless you have arms like Arnold, work on developing the entire muscle with compound type exercises.
