I would guess so.......but thats more of an axhilary..liek back is to bench, or triceps. Just by doing dls your working your grip. For the most part you "weakness" training should be lower back, hamstrings somthing like that.

I'd do grip work on the days, after I was done with everything else. 1 2x a week depending on how weak they were.

I do all my grip work on my extra workouts, ie recovery workouts. Ill do hard grip work and then some light recovery work on those days. Also, my deadlift bar is an apollon bar, so that def helps.

and a few more things... i like pullovers and cleans... are these exercises aloud with deadlifts as well as a weakness or backup exercise? i assume cleans could mayb or hang cleans but i not sure if pullovers would at all fit anywhere within the west side template, also to get this straight when i start in a few weeks time, exercises that i do as assistance exercises do i hafta stick with these or do i change them as often as i like? thanks all,

do cleans with a shoulder workout....as a first exercise.....pullovers are a chest exercise......if you trully push yourself on deadlifts...I just don't see how you could have the strength to do clean or other heavy exercises...

yes you can rotate assistance exercises just like with everything else....to give your muscles variety...

I would do grip work on separate days....maybe on arms day or with biceps...ie a day when you're training a small body part

menace im talking about westside template routine where it has

Dynamic bench
max squat
max bench
dynamic squat

i aint having a seperate day for arms as i want to recover fully from these days and i want to stick to just the one workout i change them alot when ever i look at peoples routines... so i wondering if i could add this stuff.. anyway if i had cleans and pullovers u suggest adding them both to my bench workout days?? cuz i saw a post where someone did hang cleans on deadlift/squat day?? them n cleans gotta b similar to n extent.

I would do them on a ME squat day when im doing deadlift as my max effort exercise, although I haven't done them since I started Westside.

Hmm....what about

Day1: Max Squats/Dyn Bench
Day3: Dyn deadlift/Max Bench-you can try to add hang cleans here-maybe try doing them instead of dynamic deadlifts...
Day5: Max Deadlift/Dyn Squat

I dunno, but I am to dead after doing goodmornings or box squats on me squat day to do dyn bench. Something to try to change your routine. Way to think outside the box.
Im happy with the regular westside schedule though.
