Hello all,
I am 17 and am recovering from a 2 year long drug and drink binge, and by drugs I mean everything under the sun, I know most of you will find that quite disgusting but I was young and very impressionable but know that my mind has finally opened like a coocun (no idea how to spell that) and released the man that has been trapped behind the phsycosis and addiction I feel I am ready to get into shape. I have been weened off all the drugs and I drink only to ward off Alziehmers and dementia, in other words I now only chose to drink and thankfully drink was never my biggest problem but back to the matter at hand, like I sadi I am clean at the moment and reckon on staying that way and suprisingly even though for two years I had been eating more drugs than actual food I now weigh in at 82 kilos(186lbs I think), which I feel is ok. I can't lift much now but hpoefully some of you guys can give me some advice on what is best for someone who wants to gain lots of muscle but does not have the hard cash for all those protein supps. Any help would be greatly apprectiated.
P.S. Sorry for babblimg and bad spelling.

Chidiaka,
I applaud you! Well done. Keep that path, it gets easier. I would honestly recommend just starting slow, keep that image of a clean, sober, healthy and fit life always fresh in your mind and a good goal in front of you to keep you focused on where you're moving to. Don't worry about where you're coming from, because it sounds like you've gotten out of the whirlwind and on the road to recovery.
Try a multivitamin and go from there, it helps replace what's been stripped out of you, and helps with the energy. Then, listen to your mama! Eat your fruits and vegetables and eat more lean meats (90% Lean Beef, Turkey, white chicken, tuna, salmon, and other fish. It's cheap! I'm military, so I know about the lack of hard currency in my pocket. I get 75% or more of my protein from tuna and beef jerky. Then, just balance it out with a regular healthy meal!
Lots more protein and less fats in your diet will help w/ strength, and remember-you did it. Good luck with the new healthy lifestyle, and God bless.
