Tonight I've devised a goal for myself, I just need some help establishing a realistic timeline for it. I'm 23 years old, 6'3, 209lbs and according to a bodyfat scale I just brought home from target I have 23.7% bodyfat (22.7% on mybodycomp.com)

Doing the math, that means I have ≈160lbs of lean mass and ≈50lbs of bodyfat. My ultimate goal is to be at 200lbs with 10% bodyfat, making me have 180lbs of lean mass and 20 pounds of body fat. Thus I gotta put on 20lbs of lean mass and take off 30lbs of fat. Wow!

I've definately got my work cut out for me. Do you think it's accomplishable by Christmas? What sort of workout plan should I sign up for here on freetrainers?

With regards to diet, I'm finally on my own and in complete control of my diet. In fact, I'm thinking of trying a vegetarian lifestyle but I'm afraid of not getting enough protein. I'm on protein powder, should I get any other supplements (I was thinking of Glutamine)?

I'm gonna do Cardio in the mornings before I go to work. Can someone clear up for me, once and for all, if I should do cardio on an empty stomach or eat first to get my metabolism going. Which would benefit me the most given my particular situation?

Thanks for all your help, I'll have to buy a camera, because I'm about to take my "before" picture.

You need to just go for it. Stay with the program, don't try too hard to rush things, stay focused, and you will see results? Will you reach your goal? Don't know, but you will surely be closer to it than if you slack. And use that accomplishment as a stepping stone to the next one. Little goals will add up to large ones.

This may not be the definitive yes or no you wanted to hear, but don't think anyone can tell you that unless your goal is so far out of reach. You may in fact be striving for alot with what you stated, but do what you can, and keep going. When Christmas comes, be proud of your accomplishment and move ahead.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting glutamine. Have something in your stomach before cardio. A small protein shake (or even better split a Myoplex MRP in half for instance, has malto in it) and it will be a good start.
