Hey I was thinking of trying "Universal Gain Fast 3100" (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/univ/gain.html" it looks like it will pack some serious mass on me. However with so much calories and everything I was wondering if I would have to lift like a pro body builder with this? Or could I continue to train regularly and still not get fat from it? Also I used to be real fat and lost all my weight from lifting but want it back in muscle, the all natural lifting and eating right isn't working. If I were to gain weight in muscle and not fat would my face look the same or would I have a fat persons face again? I worked so hard to get here and look great except im sorta skinny and would hate to lose the way my face looks. Thanks :) |

I personally am not a big fan of the weight gainers. Make sure you read the ingredients. Most are loaded with sugar for extra calories, or they hide it in sugar alcohols. Remember, 12 gr. of sugar is equivalent to 1 tbsp. of sugar. You may see the scale go up, but it may not be with the weight you want. I suspect if you were once shall we say "weight challenged", that this may not be a good idea. Be careful. |

Perhaps theres something missing in your eating?-------------- The trouble with jogging is that, by the time you realize you are not in shape for it, it is too far to walk back! Franklin P. Jones Ivan Montreal Canada |

You said that you want the weight you loss back in muscle. Well muscle takes much longer to pack on than fat does, just take a look at how many more overweight people there are walking around than bulky muscular people. Make sure you are lifting heavy and eating lots of protein, but don't exclude your carbs since they are what gives your muscles energy. Diet is the key if you want to pack on muscles.-------------- "Some people call it insanity, I call it intensity" |

Witjh 596g of carbs per serving, I can almost guarantee you that you'd gain *a lot* of fat. That's way more carbs than anyone should take unless they're into some sort of extreme powerlifting program - and that's not even including daily food intake! Like bb1 said you'd see the scale go up, but it's gonna be fat! Not to mention that stuff is going to be expensive. I don't know how many servings you get in a 5lb jug, but I bet it's not very many with those monstrous serving sizes. I'd guess it may only be about 8 servings, which means you're going to have to buy one of those things like every 8 days! That's going to be VERY expensive. If you're really determined to pack on the weight, try eating a lot of sugar, and you'll get the same results, but I certainly don't recommend you do that...As far as good mass gainers go stick with these: 1. lots of high protein food (meat, eggs, lots of milk for exmaple) 2. water (a gallon a day) 3. a multivitamin 4. whey protein powder 5. creatine. Thse 5 ingredients are very important, probably in that order. #2 and #3 aren't really weight gainers, though they're still extremely important - although #2 can become a weight gainer if taken with #5. |

Also, you can't gain weight in just your face. You can only gain fat overall and your body will decide where it goes. For men it goes to the belly first and for women, thighs and hips. |

Thanks Carivan. I think it's always good to share what knowledge I have even if I'm still learning a lot myself :) |
