I'm sorry I didn't even search fitbuddy for this topic. I used baby oil in the sauna today because someone said that you will sweat a whole lot more when you use it. I did in fact sweat a lot more (or so I thought I did.) And so my question is if it is alright to use this stuff in the sauna and if the extra sweat is really sweat?

That and also I eat a lot of sodium since I really like it, and I'd like to get rid of it as well since I know it's not good for the blood pressure.

When you put a Xmas trukey in the oven and bake it, try adding a little oil and then watch that sucker sweat. Amazing how crisp and brown it comes out!!

Think of the next poor bugger that gets into the sauna and steps on your oil slick???

If you want to sweat more, drink water before you get in, crank up the heat, and keeping wetting the stones, oh did i mentions staying in for longer??

I say forget the oil.

why do you go to the sauna? what is your purpose? goal?....why.....

remember you can't sweat off fat or weight....all you do is just lose waterweight when you sweat....you gain it right back when you drink water to rehydrate yourself......

I understand that all you lose is water weight and that you gain it all back when you drink water. My goals are to gain lean muscle mass. I go to the sauna so that my pores can open and my face can clear up. (I have lots of black heads) I'm sorry. I should have been more informational before I asked this question. I really don't want to sweat more, I was just wondering if it will help to use the baby oil. Thanks for posting on this topic anyways though.

for that - then no
if you have oily skin you don't want to add more oil
try washing your face with powered milk mix with enough water to make a paste

Couldn't agree more!
Try taking a HOT'N STEAMY shower for the skin. Works wonders!

There's no need to apologize for jumping in to conclusions. There are very many misinformed people. Fortunately I'm not one of them. I understand why anywould who knows the truth would jump to conclusions. I do it myself.

What is a wet sauna and what is a dry one? Which one do you prefer and which one works best? It is hot in the saunas I know it, and sometimes I don't have the motivation to go either. I usually bring a book along and read in there, but after about 10 minutes, I have to put the book up. It starts getting soaked with sweat and I don't want to have to pay for a ruined book.

I take hot showers. I didn't realize that hot showers would word as well.
