Greetings from Sherwood Park, Alberta. (near Edmonton)
My name is Erika and I am very glad I found this site! Hopefully this will provide the motivation I need.
I started committing to my health when I hit 185 pounds. I stopped stepping on scales at 185, but honestly I know I gained more because I still out-grew some pants I had. Since then I've hit 146 twice. I'm a self inflicted victim of the yo-yo syndrom!
So - I'm 160 today and am "deciding" that enough is enough. I am going to vanquish the demons of "junk-food-addiction"!! (lauhing) Please don't take me too seriously - I often resort to humour.
If there are others living in my area I'd love to hear from you! I'm looking for a local workout partner too as working out by myself is getting frustrating...
I'm begining to babble so I'll sign off now. Can't wait to have a look around this site! My new "Fitness Program" starts on Monday! YAY!
Erika.

Welcome to FT... I'm a Canadian as well, but I live near Red Deer...
As for the photos, they can take some time... don't worry, they'll get up there eventually!

Erika,
Hey, welcome to FT! You'll enjoy this site, you're side by side with many others who said enough was enough, and made healthy a lifestyle instead of 'just getting ready for summer'. Also, you'll find you're in good company, as many many people here speak the language, ayy.(Ivan and Tim, just 'Joshin'. I'm sure there's some Texan jokes you know...)
It's good to have you, good luck with all your goals!

Welcome aboard artemis-75. Good luck reaching your goals.
With your positive attitude you should not have a problem.
Just stay away from the "diets". Proper eating 5x a day will and exercise will give you waht you want.
-------------- Scales are for dead weight: We are not dead yet!
Still trying to find out how to do the Hollywood Free Press.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. It's a real bonus to actually get responses and know there are helpful people around!!
Carivan, you know, I think eating properly will be my biggest battle. I have to learn to listen to my "that's enough food" voice. I did weight watchers for a year (that was the last time I hit my weight goal) and I took the time to balance it with the national nutritional recommendations (most people in WW don't do that because it's a lot of extra work...) so I was still eating healthy, but as soon as I stopped counting points... Well, here I am! (Laughing)
This time it's going to be different I am going to think while I chew and slow down! If only I didn't like food so much! :surprised:
Anyhow - thanks for the boost - I'm off to the gym in 15 minutes. Day 1 of my ft program! Yay!!!
E.
