Just a little info about myself, I'm 6'2" 140 lbs (yes thin as a rail). I spent my high school days as a long distance runner. Running was my main thing but I did light weight training when coach made us hit the wieght room (ok I mostly screwed around because it was all free weights and the bars were heavy enough for me). That was four years ago and now I'd like to become more serious about working out.

My main goals are to increase my strength some and bring my weight up to the average for my height. I also love to run and want to bring my mile run time back down to 6 minutes.

I've set up a general training program that has me working out three days a week. The other three days I plan on working on my running (and resting on Sunday). I can do the run workout on my own, and fyi it will consist of long runs (3-5 miles) and sprints.

Is this running workout going to hurt my resistance training any? I read BB1fit's topic about cardio vs. resistance training, that is where this question comes from. I want the running and the weight lifting but need to know if I'm going about doing this the right way.
