I am wondering how the group feels when they are cutting both mentally and physically? I am 5'8" and went from 195 to 188 lbs now. I work out 5-6 days a week with now adding cardio 3 days. Now I feel weak and a little tired and mentally having a hard time losing all that size. (although I lifet as heavy as I can still) On the UP side, I am getting cut and abs finally starting to show while holding pose. Still lots of work to do. But getting there. I am having an issue with being so hungry and trying not to exceed my caloric intake.
here is my diet and wondering if you would be so kind as to critique this for me.
breakfast- shake 600 cal 52 grams protein 45 carbs
mid am- chicken taco 32 grams protein
lunch- chicken and greenbeans water and diet soda
afternoon- shake shake 600 cal 52 grams protein 45 carbs
dinner- chicken taco, or tuna or chicken with wheat pasta
night time snack shake or cheerios with 2-3 scoops protein

Do you ALL think its too many calories for cutting should I switch to a lower cal shake?

I would switch pasta with yams, sweet potatoes, or some other complex carb whcih will keep you satiated longer....
your bare min approx of maintenance calories is 188*11=2068...that's if you just sleep all day....now depedning on you activity level......from what you said you're very active...so that to maintain your body weight you probably need 2500-2800 calories.....Try taking in 2300-2500 calories a day see if that's working...if you're losing weight too slow or stop progressing then drop another 100 calories....Days when you're doing cardio add a bit more carbs...
your shake also seems to be overly high in calories and carbs
by comparison if I take 3 servings of my shake in on sitting(per serving given on the box)....I'd get 66g protein 360 calories 4.5g fat and 12 carbs(9 of each are alcohol sugars)
So i am getting more protein and almost half calories, and and almost quarter of your carbs which is sugar....
you are getting a raw deal with your shakes...it might be good to gain weight...but to lose weight it's quite poor...
I am using 'Pro-rated' and it tastes awesome....better than any sugar filled shakes I tried before....19.87 at Costco(it's more online for some reason)...90 servings at 20g protein each....6 lbs in a tub
now if you cut out these shakes with just sugar....you can take those extra calories....and eat complex carbs....as well as fibrous carbs like red, black, pinto, lima, etc beans.......fairly high fiber intake also helps keep you satiated longer(non-soluble esp)...while soluble fiber helps keep you regular...
also while dieting try to increase your water intake ....aim for at least gallon of water...which includes tea/coffe....also cut out sodas of any kind..diet or not....it's sodium and other crap that you really don't need...
do cardio on days off or after weight lifting....for 30-45 minutes of moderate pace....
also try taking caffeine pill (200mg) once in the morning and once midday....however avoid coffee/tea/soda while taking it....it should help keep your hunger at bay as well and give you the needed energy boose....(you can move your midday tablet to before your workout...however if it's too close to your bedtime then it's probably not a good idea....so if it's within 6 hours of you going to bed...then jsut take it during lunch)

I think N-Large is specifically for bulking...that's why it's packed with so many calories...a while ago I was looking into this...and it was one of the more calorie filled shakes......
Most regular protein supplement powders should be fairly low in terms of calories or carbs....300 or under calorie wise....and should contain much less carbs than protein....under 20g?...and many new shakes use sugar substitutes like splenda and other sugar alcohols....
If you can afford Pro-rated defintely get it...my friend is now hooked on it...he buys Bovarian Chocolate/Alpine Vanilla and takes diff flavor every other time...otherwise as with all things you'll start to hate it...lol....but it def tastes much better than anything I had ever tried...if you mix in 2-3 servings with milk...it will taste like a milkshake....
my friend also started combining other things into them like fresh fruits and berries and was considering a bit of ice cream since he's trying to bulk up....
Good luck
