I stand pretty tall 5ft 2, medium built, & have been lifting for two years (including 5 months in FT). What's the safe max weight I should not go above?

I don't think that can be answered by us. I think it has to be answered by you. There is no "safe" weight. Some people are stronger than others. Use a weight you are comfortable with that you can do for 6-10 reps. What are your goals? If you fill in your profile, we may be able to help you a little more. Are you powerlifting, bodybuilding, just want to get into shape?

Hmmm first of all please fill in your profile.
Secondly such a thing as "safe max weight" doesn't exist (luckily!!)
Choose the weight that make your muscles burn by doing the decided number of repetitions.
