I've been working at chin and pull ups...and having a tough time of it. I'm trying to at least get some negatives in, as I've read on many threads here, but I seem to have pulled something on the inside of my elbow that has really messed up not only my training but my work. I'm hoping a couple of weeks off is going to help, but, should I limit the negative attempts until I'm strong enough to handle my body weight?

If you are being caused real pain, then it is probably a good idea. Pain is never good.

muscle and tendon damage(tears) are possible reasons...always do light warm up sets....you should probably take at least a week off....try to apply camphor/menthol or bengay to the area and massage it lightly...you may also want to wrap it ......

if you cannot do your body weight then do cable pull downs whether with both arms or individually.....or use Bands....

good luck...wish you a speedy recovery

cable pulldowns (where you can select diff weights, which can be significantly lower than your body weight....especially for warm up sets...)

thanks menace...working out in my home, so no machines to warm up with...I usually try to get some negatives in in between sets of curls or bench presses. I'm feeling warmed up...but maybe not that particular connection.
It's like a dull ache all the time, but when bearing weight, and turning the forearn just so, it feels like I've been shot, and I lose all strength immediately.
