I am following the mass building program. Why am I having to do so many of the same exercises every week?? Only one or two ever change. Can I substitute other exercises or is it better to just follow ft's routine? Just wondering. If that's the way it's supposed to be, then cool with me. Just thought it was weird or that it might be an error.

You can always add more if you feel the need but in most cases, just progressively adding weight will do the trick. A lot of us use the same routine for a couple of months or more and just change a couple of exercises to keep from adapting as easily.

You may want to try this. Sometimes subtle changes work just as good. Do the same exercises throughtout our 8 week or whatever period, but change the order each time. For example, on chest day, if you normally do flat benches, then inclines, then flies, then pullovers, the next time, do inclines first, then pullovers, then flies, then flat benches. This will do a couple things, you will be stronger in the exercises you were doing last by doing them first, and weaker in the ones you were doing first. Make sure you push yourself on each one. Then in a few weeks of constantly starting with a different exercise, when say the last week you go back to your original sequence, you should see some strength in those exercises from where you were. This provides good shock and change to the body without having to devise a new workout every time you train. Just a thought, but it works well. Good luck...

I did what bb1fit suggested and works for me.
