When I am doing hammer curls I can rarely feel anything in my bicep, I feel it all in my forearms. I know the secondary muscle worked out is the forearms but if feels like they are the primary. Does this happen to anyone else or does anyone know what the problem is if there is one? Thanks David

yes...your forarms are the weak link....you're lifting too light for your biceps and brachialis yet it's probably (too)heavy for your forarms(so even when you pick a moderat eweight...they give out first..by starting to hurt)....
start deadlifting....and doing forarm exercises to strengthen this weak link....

I would do the hammer curls coming across your chest and ending with it almost hitting your chin, this will hit more of the bicep area...

Menace3000. It's good to just run through these questions. This was a posted question I understand and will try the hammercurl myself across the chest although it is a great exercise for the forearm.

start deadlifting no matter what, the benefits are amazing, it works so many different muscles, you will accel in all kinds of different lifts that you wouldn't really think:)

I know what I meant, you mean to tell me you guys can't read minds? To clarify... the standard hammer curl was being somewhat complained about as it didn't do much for the bicep but was felt in the forearm. Menace suggested trying the exercise a different way. I was saying that I would try it the way you suggested. I do believe since the forearm is a smaller muscle that doing it the other way is benificial though. Is that explaination better understood?
I guess I should proof read what I send before I send it.

I didn't suggest any different exercise.....I simply pointed out that he might be using too much weight....and then i pointed out a possible weak link and suggested an exercise to fix it....
blue was the one who suggested doing it differently...but he really does need to strengthen his forarms ....
