I have been trying to do the bulking process for a week and I think I am just getting fat. This is usually what I have been eating. What should I change I have been eating a lot of natural peanut butter usually 2-3 times a day is that a bad thing? It is an easy way to get a lot of calories. I am 6'1 185lbs 18 years old. I have been trying to eat about 3300 calories a day.

breakfast
4-5 eggs whites
toast

2nd meal:
peanut butter and jelly

3rd meal:
tuna fish
protein shake
fruit

4th meal
peanut butter and jelly

5th meal
usually some type of red meat

6th meal
protein shake
fruit

Before Bed
Tuna fish
Milk

Did you steadily increase your calories, or just up them overnight? Quick diet changes tend to encourage the body to store fat, if too much is suddenly coming in, your body isn't fully adjusted and will store extra stuff as fat. Your diet looks ok, as long as you're using whole bread, the jelly and fruit aren't full of sugar, and the tuna isn't full of sodium (tuna in water has less than tuna in oil). PB has quite a bit of fat just keep it within your daily fat limits. Don't forget that you always gain at least SOME fat when bulking.

1-.) while you are bulking there will definetly going to be fat. no doubt about it.

2-.) although, if you think you are just gaining fat too fast, then probably your caloric intake is way too high from your BMR. maybe, what you need to do is increase it a bit.

3-.) peanut butter is good, but try to only eat fats in your lst meals: there has been many studies that show that fat are better assimilitated at night. contrary to carbs, that are better in the morning.

4-.) arte you sure this is 3300 man? if you ask me, i dont see 200g of protein at least in there, nor even 300g og carbs.

you increased calories way too much...a lot of the gain is going to be fat...so you perhaps need to bring it down a notch....don't go over 500 calories over maintenance.....

PBandJ is ok after working out but otherwise avoid it....jelly is sugar and it spikes up your insulin causing your body to store more calories as fat....

Thanks a lot. There is a least 200g of protein I usually have 2-3 shakes a day where where I put 2 1/2 scoops in each so there is 150+ in supplements

avoid using shakes if you can replace it for meal.
i am not saying it is bad, but food is the best supplement in the market.

If I may just add usually a can of tuna and a protein shake is a little too much protein in one sitting. I would space the can of tuna (my one can yields 42 grams of protein) and the shake. Just appears to be too much too fast.
