FreeTrainers routine tells me to do 4 sets of squats (20,16,15,14).

I'm doing these with a 50pound (20kg) barbell on my shoulders. Is this too little? Or is it good just for starting, as this is my first week for squats.

Note: I've been weightlifting for a year now.

If you have just started doing squats you should choose a weight which is relatively easy to lift, until you are happy that your form is good.

Once you have been doing squats for a while, and are happy with your form, then you should use a light weight for your first set (this is a warm up set), and use a weight where you can only just complete your last rep for the subsequent 3 sets.

good luck

Ta muchly.

I'll work on my form, last thing I want is an injury.
