I was off from work for 2 weeks during the holidays. During this time I decided to do something different to shock my muscles. I trained every day (except for two-Christmas and New Years). I usually have a 4 day split routine (M:Chest/Back, W: Legs (for mass), F: Biceps/Triceps/Shoulders, Sat: Legs (Toning)) but for those two weeks I did (M: Chest/Back, T: Legs (Mass), W: Bis/Tris/Shoulders, R: Legs (Toning), F: Chest/Back, Sat: Legs (mass), Sun: Bis/Tris/Shoulders, and on to the next week). I ate more than usual, I got alot of rest, and I didn't do much aerobics. I did put on about 3 lbs (don't know what percet was muscle/fat yet). But I was aiming for building up my muscle during this time period. Any opinions? By the way, I'm back to my old routine.

How do you feel? I have learned that it is really important to listen to you body and to ensure that you are giving your muscles adequate rest time between workout sessions. What exactly are your goals?

My goal was to gain some more muscle mass right now. I feel fine. Since I wasn't working during those two weeks I had very little stress. The exercise every day in the morning seemed to make me feel more energized and mentally and physically. P.S. I wouldn't attempt to do this now that I'm back at work.

Carol - that's the kind of workout schedule that can be a good shocker if you don't over do it and don't do it too often but I personally wouldn't recommend it as a mass gainer. If your intensity level is up there you won't have the recovery time needed to grow. I'm just responding to bump this one up as I'm curious as to what some of the pros might have to say about this one.
