I've never joined anything like this before, but I really need some help! I am 5'2 and 150lbs. and I've had it!

Before having children, I never really had to worry about my weight. But after 2 c-sections and 5 years of being a stay at home mom, I can't take it anymore.

You'd think that being a stay at home mother, I would have plenty of time to work out and what not but I don't. As most military spouses could tell you, scheduling around military life is chaotic at best. It's very hard to get into a routine when you never know when your husband will be home. Dinner at 6 o'clock one night, 8:30 the next, and then he's gone for a month (or 16!!) and here you are trying to fix nutritional meals for you and a picky 5 year old and exercising with a baby on your lap!! I can't seem to find a balance.

I think what I need is a little guidance and a lot of support (and maybe someone to slap me every once in awhile and tell me to stop making excuses!!). I just want to feel good about myself again, and be healthy enough to be a good wife and mother.

Thanks to anyone who is listening to me vent!!

Welcome! I know how hard it can be with kids and no schedule. Stay at home mom was the hardest job I ever had! I actually found it easier to work 10 hours a day at the office. I'm no expert on fitness, but there are plenty of people here that are. Read through the old posts, use the search, and you will find a ton of information. Good luck!

Wow girl, I am with you. Tigerlily, I am a military spouse myself. What I did was, I know its hard, but put my self first. I knew getting off my butt was going to be challege and with three kids and two c-sections, you are busy, busy, busy.

I did several things. I got cut back on T.V., I made a schedule, and actually stuck with it, whether hubby was there or not. I live in Kentucky and the scenery is beautiful, so I take my kids to a Nature preserve with a creek and they love it. It gets them out and me some air and exercise. I also learned that I needed to eat for myself, not for two.

I cut back portions and started eating 3-5 small meals as advised from FT. Thanks guys. I have lost 10 pounds in a month, by doing this and walking. I am just starting to go to the gym.

My best advise is take baby steps and set small goals. I would start by setting a schedule.

Best of Luck and Congrats on wanting to make a change! If you need a support buddy, I am here, as well as the Free Trainers Team!

try it for a couple of weeks - it figures on you lifting so make sure you do that & keeps you from going into stravation mode.

I"m a stay at home mom now but both my boys go to school so I workout when they aren't home (except on Saturday - then I put them in the backyard)
