I just began lifting weigths for the first time in my life and I noticed anytime I am lifting free weights or doing situps my muscles begin to spasm or shake to the point where I cant finish the exercise im doing. It isnt a cramp or anything like that but it shakes. For example I was bench pressing 50+bar at the gym and the spasm began while I was lifting. lol. I had to lift the bar underhand to get it back on the tray.Is this a lack or power or somethign more serious? I notice I dont get this nearly as intense using the machines. With the machines I get the burn I want plus I'm able to finish the sets. Can I get the build I want by using machines from now on OR should I use the machines until I build strength throughout my body then put free weights into my routine.

Thank you in advance.

the shaking is as a result of your stabilizers. thats why when you switch to the machine it doesnt happen. as you continue to weight train with free weights, they will strengthen. i would suggest sticking with free weights, maybe reduce the weight you are doing to complete your sets properly.
