Hi all,
I am new to this site. I am doing my work outs for the last 4 months. My aim is to get good shape and to shed excess fat.
My height is 5'11'' and weight is 142 lbs.
coming to progress , I am ok. I started at 130 lbs and I reached 142 lbs .
The only concern for me is about my abs.
I see little improvement in abs.
especially lower abs and love handles. I could not burn fat in these two areas. But I see a little change in abs when compared to beginning.
My doubt is will it take time to get shape in abs?
I do leg raises, bent leg crunches daily of count 80.
I run 1 mile for 2 days. Do I need to change any thing in abs exercise ? please advice me.

Thanks,
Ramu

It will take time so be patient. Keep up the hard work and you will see results. I would say you are doing to many crunches. Try slowing down the speed of the crunches.
Count 4 secs on the down and 2 on the up. I would also try decline crunches. Remember, you cannot spot reduce. Are you doing any resistance exersises?

Well it would speed up your meabolism if you added a weight routine, which would speed up your progress. You seem pretty lean at 142lbs. I would think you want to build some good lean tissue. Whats your diet like? Sounds like you are working really hard but at a plateau. (spinning your wheels).

I take 4 time meal.
morning bread with milk , afternoon grilled chicken breast with cheese. Evening 4 'o clock bread with cottage cheese.
and after my work out rice, vegetables.
before I go to bed Genisoy protein drink ( mix with milk or juice)

Is that proper diet?should I change any thing.

Ok start by eating more. More meaning more often like 5-6 times a day. Boost your protien intake to about 160 grms
and put your carbs up to about the same (Good carbs).
Fat should be at not more than 30% of your total calories. This will help you gain good lean mass, and give you good energy to do resistance training also.
Hope this helps.

carivan is right, eating about 5-6 small meals a day will speed up your metabolism so you will start to shed away the fat. and dont be affraid to start with the resistance traing because that is a good tool for having a great body.
make sure to combine a good diet with strength traing and cardio. if you do these three things you will start to see the results faster.
