Hi Everyone, I am new to this site..and I am fairly new to working out. This will be my third consistent week that I am working out. I usually work out 3-4x in one week, and always in the morning. I do about 30 minutes of cardio and then about 30 minutes of weights - alternating body parts. I have been trying to watch what I eat as well..I have a question and anyone with an answer please help..I have gained 8 lbs since I started. Pls remember this is only my 3rs week and although I see a bit of difference in my body (very little still) I do not see a HUGE difference in the way my clothes fit. This is really discouraging and scary. Anyone with insight that can we shared would be appreciated. Is this normal? Thanks:(

Welcome to FT! 3 weeks isn't enough time for your body to respond to your training. The temporary gain in weight could just be water retention. Give it some more time...be patient.

pedmarjay - Why don't you fill out your profile and stay a while?

I completely understand where you're coming from. I gained a bit too. I've been working out off and on for over 15 years now but I'm only in week 5 of my FT training program right now and am refusing to give up!

I'm as impatient as the next person but as rpacheco says "3 weeks isn't enought time for your body to respond to your training."

Are you using a FT training program? Are you using the nutiritonal tracker as well? I strongly recommend you do if you aren't already. Try to be patient as you're body is still in the "what the heck are you doing to me??" phase.

See how you feel about it at the end of the 8 week program.
