i do a lot of basketball, so a lot of cardio. Will i still increase my strenght even if i don't get a body builders body.

Nope....basketball is great for staying lean and building cardiovascular endurance...especially fast paced 5 on 5....however it does practically nothing for building muscles...
... I have no idea by what you mean 'bodybuilders' body....athletes in many sports, strongmen, powerlifters, etc all have well built bodies through different ways....
To improve in basketball...you can try to learn explosive olympic lifts like power cleans and snatch
as well as exercises like jump squats and deadlifts to develop core strength and explosive ability...
