Someone gave me a bottle of "fat blockers," which contain the following:
- 50 mg Rutin
- 50 mg Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf Powder
- 250 mg Chitosan
Other ingredients: cellulose, gelatin (from capsule) and magnesium stearate.
I haven't taken any yet. What do you think? Should I? Do you know anything about these ingredients?
Thanks!

chitosan is the main one, it is fiber derived from shellfish i believe. it is SUPPOSED to attrack fat to it, up to 7 times it's weight, and since fiber isn't absorbed by your body niether is the fat attached to it. Of course this is all in theory i don't know of any clinical trials to back up these claims.

Personally I think it is one of those "miracle" diet items that probably will never work.... but I may be wrong...

I think that you shouldn't take it and if your goal is to lose weight, just do it the old fashioned way.

it's worth a try...these supplements usually bind to amylase and prevent it from beign absorbed....so any calories not absorbed....are not used by the body so it helps you lose some weight....
