Carbohydrates?

When you look at Nutritional information on something and it looks like below (just as an example):

Total Carbohydrates 18 g 6%
Dietary Fiber 9 g 36%
Sugars 1 g

How do you know what the other 8g's of Carbs are? Are they typically good complex carbs?

you can look at the ingredients of the food and that should show you what the carbs are. (complex, simple etc.) Not all of the carbohydrates are good carbohydrates in the foods that have them. I hope this helps you.

I agree with dx. There is no way to tell without looking at the ingrediants.

Hmmm...so how do I know from the ingredients what's good and bad? I know to look for hydrogenated stuff...I think this indicated Trans fats. What else should I look for and avoid?

avoid lots of sodium... saturated fats.. trans fats.. lots of sugar..
