Hi,
Is it possible to do too much cardio? My main goal in exercising is to lose weight. Is doing cardio for 45 minutes/day for 5 days each week too much?
Thanks

Hi
I have read numerous posts on this topic. If you don't get an answer soon you could scroll down to the bottom of any page on ft and use the search fitbuddy. It will come up with all of the posts on cardio.
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. Hopefully this will help.

Cardio alone will not bring you to your goal. it will cause a weight reduction at the beginning, but then you will stay the same. Diet is very important along with a good resistance training program.
% days a week at 45 min is good, 30 min at the right HR is just as good.
Don't misunderstand me though, 45 min 5 days a week is great for your cardiovascular system.

If you are not use to do all that cardio, then yes it'll be too much. Let the needed time for your body to get use to the exercise, and yes take a look around in the forum for more info. Good luck! :)

you can also split up into 2 20 minute sessions....
whether it's too much depends on your level of experience.....it's not unreasonable......
as other already pointed out....healthy diet is just as important to lose weight...you must give your body the right nutrients to achieve your goals....
