I'm looking for a good, strict fat-cutting diet for a (wanna-be)female fitness competitor... Anyone out there have any suggestions?

I was re-reading some fitness mags this morning at the gym and found the following in a woman's fitness mag:
Pre-Competition Plan from a Figure Competitor 1. 1/3 C oatmeal and 6 egg whites 2. 1/3 C brown rice and 4oz chicken breast 3. 5oz lean groundturkey and 1 C green veggies 4. 6oz white fish and 1 C green veggies 5. 4oz chicken breast and 1 C green veggies 6. 8 egg whites and 1 C green veggies Pre-Competition Plan for a Fitness Competitor 1. 6 egg whites 2. 1 serving cream of rice and 4oz chicken breast 3. 1/4 C oatmeal and 4oz chicken breast 4. 3oz Tuna and 1 can asparagus spears 5. 6oz orange roughy 6. 3oz Tuna and 10 asparagus spears 7. 6oz orange roughy (Man oh MAN that's not much food...) The other one I saw was In-Season versus Off-Season (sponsored by Nitro-Tech_ In-Season (add during off-season) 1. 6 egg whites and 1/2 C oatmeal (add 1 slice whole wheat toast) 2. 3/4 C low-fat yogurt and a handfull of almonds (add 1 medium green apple) 3. Tuna salad with mixed greens (add 1 C brown rice) 4. Nitro-Tech Carb Control Bar (Meso-Tech bar) 5. Nitro-Tech "Delicious Vanilla" shake (add 1 C orange juice) 6. Chicken breast and steamed vegies (add 1 medium yam) I'm sure someone will offer something better. Thought I'd share as I'd just been reading about this today! |

Nice! Thanks so much for the examples. You've definitely given me something to start with!
Wow! I knew a good competition diet wouldn't have many starchy carbs but oooh... Anyone know how long it will take for me to get past craving them once I start a diet like this? :surprised: |

paulab - i bumped a post called 'some diets for example' look for it - it is some more fitness/figure competitors diets on and off season.
If you fill up on complex carbs , high volume/low calorie, like broccoli, salad, etc, you shouldn't crave too badly. You can still have oatsmeal in the morning. Don't cut your calories too drastically - just by 100 or so. Or, depending on what your macro-nutrient ratio has been, you could just manipulate your ratios without cutting calories right away. Do you have a competition date? -------------- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F. Scott Fitzgerald |

I know of a good fitness competitor diet at www.yourmealplan.com . There is a girl on the site with her success story of becoming a fitness competitor.:)
