Hey.. its been a long time since the last time i posted=). Well for about 6 weeks now i have been playing rugby with my high school team. In this time however, i have not been working my legs out as much at the gym because it always made me sore and unable to perform well at games and practice. Last week i went to the gym and tried to squat and felt ALOT harder than before. I realized this should have been expected but does anyone have any advice on how i could rebuild my leg strength quickly?

Muscles have incredible memeory. And squats are tough. My opinion would be just ease yourself back into them. Start off light and make sure your form is flawless. Before you know it, you'll be slamming up the pounds again in no time!

I hadnt done squats for about 2 months because it also took away from me performing well in basketball. I had a really intense leg workout on monday night....it is now wednesday night and I am still sore as hell with little relief insight i think. I have never been this sore after a leg workout. Maybe I over did it??? I wasnt going that heavy though but I guess the 2 months off killed me. I have had to walk differently for awhile!!!

If you want to help your leg stregnth come back a little quicker, do 4 sets of leg presses (on the upper plate) either before or after your squats, and finish off with 3 sets of seated calf raises. Start off light. You will have the stregnth back in about 2-3 weeks.
Hope this helps.
