Does anyone take Fiber supplements, like fiber 1? I was thinking about taking it just to make sure I get my daily necessity, but I feel it's for old people, like I should be buying it with prune juice and denture cream...

Any brands recommende?

I'm right when I say that fiber is what undoes the damage of clogged arteries etc., right? Doesn't also eliminate tar from cigarette use too? I remember reading that it's integral to undoing damage (I"m telling my aunt to use a fiber supplement along with eating healthy, she used to eat tons of fat and smoke, ad she's changing her ways).

Musilex and FiberOne are the brands I'm familiar with...

Fiber works on your digestive tract. I don't think it does much else. Although the benefits of a health digestive tract are good for overall health of course.

And no - it's not just for the elderly.

Then what helps to undo the damage of improper eating, like uncloging arteries?

Fiber supplementation can be beneficial, but if you are a healthy individual, you would be better off getting it fromm natural food sources.

Be a bit careful with fiber, even as good as it is for you, more is not always better as with many thinngs. For instance, excessive fiber may blunt some intestinal absorbtion of important minerals like calcium, phosphorus and zinc.

What is the recommended intake?? Depends on where you look, but for instance the American Dietetic Association and the National Cancer Institute say about 20 gr. per day.
