hey i am new here, i think this is the right forum to post my qu. but if its not sorry. Anyway, the thing is recently (about 2 weeks ago) i changed my diet to a healthy diet - high in protein and i eat plenty of complex carbs etc, and i also work out (weight training). Before i only did weight training but then i realized how important diet is so i started out cuttin down on fats/sugar and kinda suddenly changed it completely making it alot better. The thing is since then i've noticed i've been a lot gassier. I burp a lot more, and well...putting it the easiest way - i also fart more and they smell worse than before. I was wondering is this to do with my new lifestyle change? Is it because i kinda changed my diet too quickly and turned over a new leaf, basically, too fast, or is it because of my actual diet or what?
A while back i read that eating too much protein causes you to be gassier, but i dont eat too much protein, i eat about 1 gram for each pound of my bodyweight like i should.
Can anyone help me figure out exactly why i've become so much gassier?
thanks for ur help

I think sudden in fiber can cause that. If you have started to eat whole grain foods, that could be a factor.

i've had the same problem :S
if you've just recently started eating eggs, this could also be the problem. or if you eat too fast..

yeah i have actually started eating a lot more eggs - 2 a day, and before i hardly ever used to have any apart from the occasional omelette. Do you think the gassiness will die down soon? once my body gets used to eating more eggs or something?
thanks for ur replies

Hello,
Yes, once your body gets used to your new eating habits the gas will go away. It can be caused by eating more fiber and eating more veggies. Both of these can/are harder to digest which I think is the reason for the gas problems.
