Hi, my name is Crystal. I came across this site last week and decided to join, so yesterday was my first day I started to train. I'm doing the at home training for beginners and the 12 week ab program.
To tell you a little about my self, I am 23 yrs old, I have a 4 yr old daughter, a 10 month old son, and I just recently got married. Here's the big one, I'm 260 pounds. No one believes me when I tell them my weight because I don't look it, but geez, I feel it! Most people think I'm only 200 or 210. Either way its alot more than I want to be. I'm 5' 6", so I'm about 100 pounds overweight. I've always been a bigger person but now I'm at my all time high. Its seems the past 3 yrs have been inevitable for my weight gain now that I think about it. In high school I was about 215 and a size 16 or 18. I got pregnant with my little girl 2 months before graduation. After graduation I got married to my first husband and moved across the country where I wasn't working, no car, no friends, etc. After I had my little girl, I was in the apartment day in and day out. When I decided to move back home my daughter was 4 months old and I was 240 pounds. I got my job back at the grocery store where I was an office cashier. I stopped drinkin sodas and only drank water. Just from that I lost 30 pounds in about a month and a half. About a year later, I got a job at a clothing store as an assistant manager; my weight usually fluctuated from 210 to 220, and from a size 16 to 18 and sometimes a 20. After about 6 months as ASM I moved up to store manager where I put in alot more hours (about 55 hours a weeks). I went down to 205 and a comfortable 16. I didn't like the hours I was putting in so I moved back down to ASM then in Oct. 2003 I got a job as a CSR at a check advance company. I sat on my but all day making phone calls and helping customers. I slowly started gaining weight and just one month later got pregnant with my second child. I was then 220. When I had my son I was 256, dropped about 30 pounds the first 3 weeks and then started gaining it back. Then Jan 1st of this year I got married. I now am a stay at home mom, in almost the same situation as the first time. No job, no car, no friends, but this time I only moved and hour and a half away..lol. Now I have managed to get myself up to and past the weight I was when I was 9 months pregnant. My self esteem has always been low, but now it has plummeted. My husband has tried to talk me into getting a gastric by pass surgery. I refuse to because I think that should be someone's absolute last decision. I have never stuck to a workout program and put in 100%. I believe that I can lose the 100 pounds on my own if I do that. (plus I've heard too many horror stories about the surgery.)
I know 100 pounds is not going to be easy. I'm giving myself 1 full year to accomplish this goal. My first small goal is to get back down to 200 and be able to fit back into the 16's and 18's that I have packed up and throw away my stretch pants! So, I'm thinkin I want to lose about 10 or 15 pounds each month.
My second goal is to get down to 160 and/or a size 12.
I know a size 12 is big to some people, but hey I'm a 22 and I know I'll never be a size 5! 12 is more than perfect for me. Wish me luck!

Good luck Crystal, and just remember to go by the measurements, and not the scale. Keep your diet right, motivation high, and keep at it steedy without falling off the wagon. After a while, exercise and diet will become your habits, and you will slowly see the measurements get smaller. Also never limit yourself to a 12 or a certain number. Just make your body what you want, and not what cosmo or whatever other mag wants. take care, and welcome to the forum.
