Hi my name is karlee. I saw this site on google about a week or two a go. I joined t then in search of a work out plan. Of course all the exercises they gave me i cannot do. I have no upper body strength :) all lower. i am 14 years old i weigh 175, im hoping to loose all that and get down to 105. I have no problems with getting a boyfriend, but my friends have always back stabbed me. I finaly thought i found a true friend, we were so close but i think she was embarrassed to be around me with guys.She is skinny and pretty. Im fat and people say i would be absolutly gorgious if i were skinny. She of course now has found a new -skinny- friend.

First off- you are not fat! You need to adjust your self image.... you sound like you are a great person. Just try doing the exercise program- it may be tough at first, but you eventually will get stronger, and you will have that upper body strength :)

Well...your the first person to ever say i wastn fat.. But thanks anyway. I guess i could try working out i go to the gym as much as possable, but i feel so stupid being in a gym with all thos people.

I felt stupid the first week or two I went, then I realized that I didn't really care what everyone else thought about me, all that mattered was how I thouhgt of me.. Then I didn't feel stupid anymore. Now when I go to the gym, mentally I don't even notice anyone else, it is as if I am the only one there...-------------- :Hard work equals great results!: |

Yah...i wonder if i could do that. I just dont like the machines becuase when thoughs big body builders rest and sit and look through the mirror at every one i feel realy low when every one looks at me becuase i cant lift that much. But i dont realy mind when im on the bike. When i do running i go up to the track instead of staying down on the treadmills. There never any one on the track.

Look at my picture- do I look like a body builder? I may be big now, but I wasnt when this picture was taken! Every one has to start somewhere- even those "body builders". Heck in my photo I was around 150 lbs... now I am 200+ lbs, which all came through hard work, dedication, and effort. Think of them looking at you in admiration, which is what I do every time I see someone else putting in 100% when I am at the gym. When I see a female, or someone smaller than me working as hard as they can to obtain a goal they want to, I admire that person. Or those bigger than me, I admire them as well, because they already put in the time, and I know that someday if I continue I will be just as good as them, or better.
It all starts with a positive self image. When you have a good one of yourself and carry yourself as such- then everyone else will notice and have a good image of you as well. -------------- :Hard work equals great results!: |

Well thats hard for me.. To have a positive self image. I have ben overweight all my life and i have ben bullied and lost friends becuase of it. Last year i almost got the crap nocked out of me becuase i girl not that much smaller than me was calling me fat and i said she had no room to talk so if she had a problem with me she could suck my big toe...Well that didnt go over to well with her. She was screaming at me saying i was three times bigger than her and calling me a bitch. My gosh ever since that i cant stand to be around alot of people.

You're not fat. "Those people" definitely aren't worth your time if they think that. In all honesty, I kind of gave up on the gym. I do everything at home with free weights now. The only thing is, now I'm lazy about the cardio. That's definitely the best thing for weight loss though.

Oh...man all of yall are saying im not fat....i meen i know it all in good intentions but my mom says that dealing with your problems is admitting them first...i know im fat becuase my doctor tells me so..at first i kept saying i was bigg boned and it was baby fat. Im not a baby any more and my health class prooved there is no such thing as "Bigg boned people" im 14 and i weigh more than my grandma..i meen i am fat. But thancks for actualy believing in me.

I have and i put my settings and stuff on beginner buty i cant do any of those things....its all difficult for me, i printed it out and every thing and took it to the comunity gym here and tried them and i can only do a few of them.

Well that is a good start. Keep going and you will progress. If you give up, you will not succeed. lol, well i do alot more cardio than 2 min, just the work out plan doesnt give me ANY cardio, its all muscle build up...i dont want muscle i want my fat gone.:big_smile::laugh:

Do you really want to be "skinny"?
How tall are you? Why don't you fill out your profile and stay a while! There are a lot of great people with great advise on this site. We really need to know more about you before we can offer much morethan a little non-specific support. You WON'T get bigger by doing resistance training unless you're doing heavy weights so don't worry about getting bigger. As Carivan said muscle will burn more energy regardless of your activity. If you don't like the gyms you've been to shop around. I don't know how big the area is that you live in but maybe there's a gym out there that will suit your interests. Also it may depend on what time you get to your gym. I go early in the morning so that I avoid most of the crowds. If you're having trouble doing certain exercises try the movements without weights and focus on using the muscles properly. Drop me a private message if you're too shy to post which exercise you'd like a little help with. I'll do what I can to help. Some exercise can be done with very little weight as well. And for MOST (not all) of the machine exercises there are usually non-machine alternatives. Anyhow - I'm a cronic babbler so I'll stop. Look forward to hearing from you. Even a female doing heavier weights will not naturally gain a lot of mass- unless they are taking supplements to do such. It is genetically impossible!-------------- :Hard work equals great results!: |

hi!! it seems you've only had 1 message from a lass and I thought u cud use another girls advice.I'm in the basicly situation that your in.my storys that when i was little i was so skinny but then i stopped dancing and we moved house and at that house i had no friends there so i wouldnt go and play outside so i gained a LOT of weight!i joined the gym about 2 months ago but i was really too embarassed because i always get really red and i feel like everyones lookin at me .so wat im doin is i've got some excersise dvds to get me a bit more fitter so i dont get red but maybe that will help u too , i mean if u started to work out at home until you lost a few more pounds it might make you feel more comfortable in yourself and it might even save u some money if u pay an entry fee. you can get really good ones and i've got this one called angela griffiths dancemix and its really fun and perfect for teens as it keeps u thinkin on the movees not your aches and pains. also you get this free dvd called 30 minute stretch and tone which is really good as well.it might help you if a friend or relly goes with you to the gym for company.

Thank you. But i have tryed alot of dvd and for me it realy doesnt help. I did tae boe every day and it didnt do anything for me. So im just going to try and go to the gym i guess ill try and go in the morning when there are all thoes Senior citizens.
