It will be August before I have a chance to meet with a Personal Trainer, but if someone could give me advice now I would really appreciate it.

This photo in the link took like four tries to get down, becuz the self timer isn't any longer than 10 seconds, so if you can imagine me sprinting to the rack after pushing the button and getting into position...dag..that was a workout all by itself. Anyways I rambled all of that to say this: thats prolly my worst form, given the time crunch. Also I squat a bit lower than that, I wasn't all the way down before the shot took and after 2 more tries I realized I cant perform it in enough time, so please keep that in mind. I might squat about 2 inches lower than pictured..

But it shows what I feel my problem is: I lean too far forward. Or atleast it feels to me like I am leaning too far forward.

Anyways, if anyone has any advice/criticism, thanx

In my opinion it looks like you may be too far forward.... but I could be wrong. I know I don't lean that far up, could be bad for your back.

I dont think it looks to bad. Your sitting back which is good. The forward tilt is becuase of bar placement on the back. The lower on the traps the bar is the more forward you will lean.

thanx you guys.

I didnt know this mmaibohm, thank you! I am trying to use my heels to support my weight, I just feel off base. I'll try to bring the bar up on my shoulders.

thanx again:big_smile:

id say bring your butt back a little further.. you dont want your knees going over your toes, which it looks like in the pic

Your debth is fine.....form is fine......there is one thing I see......that jumps out......your looking in the mirror.

When you squat you look up, when you look up, your chest is up......where ever you look, you body has a way of going that direction.

Try and jump and grab a basket ball rim without looking at the rim......very hard and you won't jump as high.

IF you look up, your spine is more straight, and your chest stays up.

btw....nice legs

Thank you all for your critiques (sp?) and advice. I'm realy grateful for the support.

You've got sharp eyes BigA, I dont think that mirror even shows in the pic. You're right, I watch my squats. Novice mistake I guess. I'll set the mirror aside a minute and try to learn a "feel" for good form.

So next week I will be looking up, with the bar high on my shoulders. And trying harder to sit back..I'm looking forward to tweaking it.

BTW, a legs compliment means alot comming from a cheerleader. Thank you.

way back in the day...miniskirts were half my wardrobe..I earned better tips in them....

I'd still give ya a nice tip......:)

get a box and squat onto it......that way you can look up, sit back.....and knwo your going deep enough.....after a while you'll devolope "muscle memory" an dyoru body will knwo what to do. May wanna lighten up a lil bit though if you do them.
Trick is on the descent on box squats....push back, and squeze your hammies the whole way down, lower yourself with the hams.

I did these a week ago.....heavy.....my hams still sore.

good eye Andrew...although I like to look straight ahead instead of up when I squat...(perhaps this little change will get me to catch up to your squat lol)

AHHH very nice tip, box squatting....

I have read about it in the powerlifting thread but I just didnt know if it was sumthing for chics, or more specificly, sumthing for me..but if it will help me with form, then I'll hook it up. I know someone already posted sites as to where to get a box, so I'll do my homework.

I realy just started this to get back the pre-baby body...I never expected to get addicted to strength....it's so liberating to be a chic and manage something difficult w/o needing help...I can open jars now...

wow you had a kid? I'd never guessed?

You can do them........it can be a "chic thing" too. You don't have the testasterone to get huge.....
