Sports Hernia?? athletic pubalgia??
ive just seen a urologist and may have the above.
Apparently due to my weight training
has anyone else suffered or know about this condition
check out sportshernia.org,
my son was recentl diagnosed and had surgery --laparascopically. recover time 4- 6weeks!
also on googlem.... just type in athletic pubalgia,... for a wealth of info
I was diagnosed with athletic pubalgia by my physical therapist last week. Mine was due to excessive abdominal work-which I think weakened the muscle and excessive amount of twisting and lifting of 5 gallon water bottles at work. Bad combination. I am getting an MRI done on Thursday and I am anticipating on having surgery to repair. It has been a nasty injury keeping me out of work for 2 months but going a month and 1/2 before it was diagnosed so I lost alot of recovery time. However because it is such a relatively new thing I or no one else could put a finger on why I would not heal.
