Hi Guys new to the site, I just started back in the gym about a week ago, learnt alot from reading here..great site and great info!
But I'm curious what you would think is too Much Cardio per er week?? Currently I'm doing a light weight routine, with only 1 excersize per Body part and only 2 sets (getting ready to split Body parts into days and start with 3 sets soon), I do my complete body each day I work out. I lift 3 days a week, and follow this up with 30 min of Cardio, and I will hit the gym another 2 days on my off weights days for 30 min of Cardio. No I'm just wondering, does that sound fine? or should I rest completely on my off days, and not bother with Cardio? Or is this amount fine, But I should just watch and maybe up my Protien intake some, to make up for what I burn off running/biking?
Ok and another Question, since I'm already making a post :) What is the best Target HR for Losing fat with Cardio? I'm 24 and I usually am at about 160-170 Hr...is that where I should be, or too high? and Also wondering if I should push the times up higher than 30 min? Would 45 help me lean out more?
Thanks for any input

Regarding cardio: You should do cardio as a warm up (5-10 min) and then after your lifting session for no more than 30-45 minutes. This is if you are trying to lose weight (fat loss). On your rest days i suggest resting completely and get lots of protein intake.

Thanks for the reply.
I didn't mention, but I do warm up with 10 min of biking (usually biking) followed by stretching, and I always Stretch after my workouts as well. I am going to start stretching inbetween sets from now on as well.
I guess I can rest on days off and only do Cardio on the days I work out..and I'm thinking of trying to up the duration to around 40-45 min instead of 30.
Still Curious as to what the best HR would be for solely burning fat though. Or would the most intense You can go be the best for burning fat?

I dunno if this helps but i know there are places that give suggested HR for body weight and age while exercising to maximize muscle stimulation. Look for some and im sure u'll find ur target HR.
