I'm thinking of ordering some suppliments over the internet. They ship to Canada for 5.50, but I'm a bit worried there will be fees for going through customs. Anyone ordered suppliments from the US to Canada via the internet?

Forget it! They (customs and excise) will hit you with duties and taxes on top of all of it!
Best to stay with a reputible supplier here in Canada eh!

Don't see how that's the case ever since 1994, when NAFTA was passed.....to remove trade barrier in North American trade(Mexico, US, Canada)

you might pay more for S&H because it's over a longer distance or because they might have to deliver it by air....

i still do it fly.. even if i DO get charged customs (which has only happened once on a 20 lb order ) the overall price is still cheaper than any other local store.. including GNC, providing you find a reputable seller

Thanks for the feedback guys. The supp I'm thinking of buying is the one BB1 recommended and it isn't available in Canada, as far as I can tell. I may just try ordering a small amount and see what happens with customs. I contacted the supplier directly and he said shipping was only $5.50, so that's not a problem! Since BB1 recommended it, I'm sure it is a reputable supplier(synergymuscle.com) Still haven't dicided on whether to try the supp yet or not.... BTW Caravan, you're right, I've been burned by customs before (to the tune of $150-but it was for some technical stuff) but, as bropie says, they are never consistent . If I go for it, I'll let you know what happens!

Wish I could help out you Canadian folks...no clue about the customs stuff. That really sucks. :( All I can say is be careful and best of luck.

Flyonthewall--
there is a store called trueproteincanada.com and that is stocked with VERY good products, especially if you are looking for protein powder! If you haven't placed your order yet (or your next one) - go there, you won't be dissapointed =)
If you want to save some extra bucks, you can use my nickname as discount code there and save some money! (which is very helpful to non-US residents like me =) )
Best wishes, Dave

hi flyonthewall. i agree that you should not mess around with customs and check into a canadian site, I have ordered from supplementscanada.com before, they were ok but my shipment took 10 days to arrive. I would definately check out the Canadian site buffmusclestuff.com and if you have any questions they are very knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction. based on the last time I checked they had the best prices I could find from a Canadian supplement store
