new to this forum, i'm looking for an online buddy to workout and lose weight with. tried doing it alone before, and well no progress!!! so if you want to support each other, please let me know, and if you live close by we could go walking together!!!
:) prefer lesbians, only because i want to be comfortable having a conversation with you. |

Ivan, I thought one time you told me that you were a lesbian trapped in a man's body?
Anywhoooo reginabug000, good luck, and never hesitate to ask us any questions about your goals... -------------- Michael *ITS LEG DAY* You already blew out your wraps. I'm not trying to be an asshole...but the 1st post kinda made me feel weird. I have no problems with gay men, or lesibians for the record. However the way you phrased the statement is a very bad double standard.
Sounds like to me.....that your not "comfortable" around straight men or women.....so you want a lesbian workout partner.. which I have no problem with....however.... I'f i cam eon here asking for a workout buddy....and siad i'd perfere a straight, caucasian male workout partner........then i'm raciest or discrimnate against other races and gay people.... I just think its a weird double standard.....how you can be specific in what you want......but if a hetrosexual says he wants a straight workout partner....then we must be homophobic? -------------- gravity is not a law, only a obstacle |

I thought the same thing bigandrew. I have a couple relatives who are gay/lesbian and their partners have never said I don't want to walk, etc. with you because I want to be comfortable having a conversation.

i guess this is a big miscommunication....it has been my experience that people are uncomfortable hearing me talk about my lifestyle...ex: mentioning "my girlfriend or my ex" whereas i should not feel uncomfortable hearing about a straight individual's partner or ex...aha! there is that damn double standard again!!!:) so bigandrew you are right and wrong just as i am. you have a right to prefer whomever you prefer and whether or not you are judged doesn't matter. everyone is judged about something everyday whether or not they are aware of it, so we might as well be happy.....that said, i am open to all people and experiences, so if you want to walk with me then bring it on!!! just leave your predjudices at home.
oh and leslie, you speak of family not strangers, right? i would hope that would be the case in your experience. |

roflmao....carivan/rev
On a sidenote....during the time you walk.workout/etc....why is there even a need to talk about your personal life is my question? I understand if you're a lesbian ....you would have a female partner....ok and? there are so many others things in the world to talk about.....btw....this is not avoiding the issue....I am really saying...there are X things to talk about....if I am working out with my guy friends...I don't talk to them about their girlfriends....same thing with my female friends when we're hanging out....I mean if they ask me for advice, I am happy to give my opinion....but beyond that it's none of my business...you're way overthinking this... | |

I think you're now overthinking!
Assimer was just having fun and trying to get back to fitness! "Get over it" is a little rude. Have to love the ongoing battle of "Intent versus Interpretation" when dealing with written text. You don't have the luxury (sp?) of the verbal and visual clues and gestures that accompany the words. So - if you want to talk/chat in an unbiased format fire away! We're all ears. |

"prefer lesbians,
only because I want to be comfortable having a conversation with you." Sounded biased to me....jmo -------------- gravity is not a law, only a obstacle |

agreed...imagine if one of us said something like 'prefer heterosexuals'...sounds like a dating ad rather than attempt to find a workout partner...

and if the solicitation does not apply to you, why reply?
:( to everyone who replied intellegently; rude is an "opinion": which contradicts artemis's very own statement. -so there. |
