I tried somthing different in my workout last night....... I basicly tried pyramiding by warming up on light weights and then progressing the weight from say 60% of usual weight (on flat barbell press)for 12 reps, 70% for 10 etc. up to a weight 8kgs more than I usually do for a target of 6 reps I only managed 4 but I had a rest and did another 3.

What I usually do is warm up then the same weight for 12 10 8 6, but feel more tired, although have not progressed greatly.

I was wondering what the current theory is on this.......although I guess a lot is down to what works for you!

Usually with a pyramid, you will add weight as you loser the reps.

well thing I have realized.......is Just about anything works........you can go in and do 3 sets of 20......after 8 weeks go in and do 10sets of 3....and see great results.....there no "one set" routine that works......change is what works....if this don't work, try this....that don't work try this......

menace does some crazy workouts....resting 10 15 mins after a set.......I call it crazy......cause it is to me....it works for him! he might think I was crazy only rest 30sec to a min......some people are very systimatic about the % they are lifting........others just add weight as they see fit.
