I'm in my 5th week of my FT workout (Mass Building Program)
I want to know if it is safe or good to add a workout to the ones FT provides. Like if I'm doing chest
FT has me set up for 3 sets of dumbell bench press, 3 sets of incline dumbell bench press, and decline barbell benches. If I feel like it it it okay to say add barbell flat bench to it too, or would that be over doing it?
I'm asking because some days after I do all my sets, I still feel the want and need to do more.

adding a flat barbell bench won't really do much if you have the dumbell bench already. the dumbells have a larger range of motion than the barbell, but the flat bench effect will pretty much be the same across both exercises. if you are looking to add something, maybe a flat fly to develop outer pec and stretch, or pec deck or cable crossovers for inner pec.

I was just using that as an example. I mean can I add to any of my workouts? On any day, just to keep going when I have the extra energy or will it be over doing it?

stay within the guidelines of 8-12 sets a week for bis/tris, 12-15 sets for chest/shoulders, and 20 sets for back (including traps) and you should be ok

If you must change, switch them up. For instance, do dumbbells one workout, and barbell the next one. Or maybe flat dumbbell, incline and decline barbell, etc.

I want to stay with what FT has put up for me, I was just wondering. Sometimes it feels like the FT workout just isn't enough. You know what I mean
