hi everyone

I'm Lauren and 18 years old, well 17 but 18 next month! I live in the U.K and have been training at least 5 times a week for the past year. I always had bad asthma as a kid and didnt really know where to start with exercise so in June last year i got a personal trainer and found that i could do exercise without having an attack and have gone from being able to run for a minute on the treadmill to doing 5K and 10Ks with no breathing problems at all. I have her once a week and then the other times i follow my cv n strength programmes. I really enjoy doing cv nad strength training and want to learn more about it for myself rather than just be told by my trainer. Also, i wanted to meet people similar to me as i have found at my gym i am the only one my age who goes on a regualr basis and actually works hard, all the rest of the girls go to pose and look good and impress the guys! (does it impress ya guys?? I do understand its probably a bigger turn on than a girl working hard n sweating tons! I've never gone to impress the guys(that's what everywhere else is for lol!) and training always comes before that but it is slightly depressing when all the other young girls in the gym look attractive! lol!)

I am not particularly attractive, just average. I am five foot 2 and weigh 132 pounds. I have quite a toned body now so i want to lose weight so the tone can be seen not just went i am doing bicep curls or tricep dips lol! Although i want to lose weight, i dont hate my body and a reason for joining this place is to learn what i should be eating as i eat reasonalby healthily at the moment but dont think i eat a good balance of the healthy foods...always too much of one thing and not enough of the other...so hey everyone!

Luv

Be honest, you can tell me, you just don't like the competition from those girls that pose. :) Actually for me I find humor in the girls who pose at the gym. Especially, if they wear a provocative outfit and then get offended that you look. I've been basically laughing at them anymore, just because it shows their low self image.
Don't get hung up on anyone else in the gym, except yourself, and you should be set. good luck, and welcome to the forum.
